they are selling this in our health shop for 9.95. This is the alternative to efalex and eye q isnt it? we have tried efalex before and i think it made dd more hyper/busy. Is it the eskimo oil that is suppossed to be okay if efalex doesnt have the desired effect so to speak?

it is eskimo oil for kids...

TIA!

Hi Santafio - we use Eskimo 3, it's similar to Eye Q etc. We use the adult one, I think the child one tastes better but seems to have more additives. That's cheap, I've just paid £12.70 for a bottle.

There's a recent thread about this, here's the link - I'm not sure how to do this, hopefully it'll work.

I am so worried to try anything else as eyeq sent dd haywire!!!

we use the eskimo capsules as no evening primrose in them, i need to order some more but cant even remember where i got these, somewhere online that one of you guys told me about, my son is doing really well on these ones

We use the adult eskimo oil for dd Fio2 - I think children's one would be fine for your dd (we don't use it because it has Eve primrose in it which can affect epilepsy). But I think the possible problem with eye-q and effalex is to do with the ratio of omega 3 and omega 6 (and 9?) so check out what this is for the eskimo kids.

We use Eskimo kids oil. It contains 410mg EPA and 280mg DHA per 5ml. One dose is one 5ml spoon so it's good that you only have to stomach one spoon a day. I think the general feeling is that EPA is the most important so that ratio is good.

Also contains alpha linoleic acid and linoleic and oleic acids plus vitamins D (100% RDA) and E (67% RDA).

I don't think it has many additives : ingredients (off the side of the bottle)= natural fish oil, natural rapeseed oil, vitamin D, vitamin E, antioxidants (lecithin and ascorbyl palmitate), natural flavouring.

It's suppose to have a tutte frutte taste but I wouldn't say it was particularly pleasant. However ds2 always takes it without complaint.

HTH
