Private ASD / PDA diagnosis

I’m having a really hard time with my 11 year old DD right now.

Would school HAVE to be involved with a private assessment?

This thought is causing her great distress but I think we have got to the point an assessment is needed for her to understand why she is struggling in the way she is

Not an expert at all, but I’ve spoken to one private doctor so far as we are considering a private assessment too (also about suspected ASD and PDA but in my 4yo DS) and he said they normally don’t need to involve the school.
I hope they don’t, my DS appears totally fine at school and they have “no concerns”….

For us they gave the school teacher a 5 page - tick box with probably 100 questions ….. that’s all. However it was during lock down …. It was tick - never, sometimes, yes, most definitely that kind of thing.

You will know if your child is PDA it’s a killer really really difficult (my boy is and he’s been the same since he was 2 years old)

Eliza fricker podcasts are my favourite - missing the mark - listen to her

Good luck hope you find some answers
