Does this show any concerns?

I wondered if you wise folk could help me. My son is 8 and I have always had some concerns, which were always brushed off with teachers. Now we are going into a new school year I am going to raise it with his new teacher. I have collated together all my concerns:

very often doesn't respond to name (checked as a baby for deafness but might get him checked again) and appears to be in his own world a lot of the time (loves imaginative play)
Issues with bullying his older brother and Lying about it, I Explain how upset/hurt his brother is but he doesn’t seem to feel bad
Trouble with Problem solving - doesn’t seem to have any common sense
Often doesn’t make eye contact
Not Embedding things he’s told - although is doing well at school and in the past teachers have said no concerns
Immature Reactions to things - screeching and whinging a lot
Trouble using Cutlery.
bangs into things a lot, always hurting himself
no other physical problems - crawled early and walked at a year, climbs a lot (climbed out of cot at a year!), good at team games / sports

thanks in advance

I would try your GP for the co-ordination issues as they seem to be both fine motor and gross motor.

Not sure on the rest as it seems a mixed picture.

I’m not sure what you mean by not embedding things? If he’s doing well at school he should be retaining knowledge and skills over time.

Thanks @SachiLars . It’s kind of linked to common sense, it’s almost like he can’t work things out. But he’s very good at maths and generally does well at school. I don’t know if he’s just too distracted in his head when he’s not in school, that he can’t break out to work things out. It’s hard to explain.

Does he find it hard to take another person’s perspective? Would that join up some of the issues you mentioned?

Perhaps try to talk to the school’s SENDCO. He / she should be able to pick up signs that are more subtle than a less experienced class teacher might miss.
