My DS will be 18 soon and will no longer be able to access services from the children's hospital. He has medication (still a bit trial and error).
I have been told that the waiting list for over 18's is very long and he may not get to see anyone as the threshold is very high. His GP may prescribe but not certain.
What do others do for their 18 year olds? There is no way he could sort this out on his own and I think it's not just about the medication - he would just muddle on alone left to his own devices.
I have looked at private psychiatrists but he doesn't need an assessment as he has a diagnosis and I'm not well off by any means. I could do a few appointments but couldn't afford a regular £££ payment.
Ca anyone point me in the direction please?
