ADHD assessment

Hello!

So I not long ago posted about our son having suspected ADHD.

I had a meeting with senco at school, and his teacher has stated she has no concerns about him. Which I was really taken aback by as she had previously mentioned numerous times to me that he struggles with concentration, has been provided ear defenders, he's talkative, and he is a reluctant writer.

Senco says he may be masking, but in all fairness, I honestly think that his teacher is maybe missing the signs or she doesn't personally see it as an issue? Or am I overthinking?

I showed senco a video of my son moving non stop whilst in a calm environment, watching a film. I explained to her that this is constant. Like all the time. I told her his behaviours at home, and I told her he is ticking all the boxes.

She then stated that her son doesn't have a diagnosis of anything and he used to be like that. Am I overreacting or does it seem like she was just dismissing my concerns?

She gave me referral forms despite this though.

I now feel like he's going to be refused an assessment and I'm gonna be told it's my parenting because school aren't really on side with me.

Has anyone been through similar?

Thanks.

Cannot offer any insight sorry. My Ds has suspected ADHD also. He started Year 1 a week ago and I have had to collect him 3 times for being severely disruptive. He has a history of behavioural issues while at reception also. I am hoping to talk to his SENCO this week. Good luck with your Ds, I hope you get the answers you need to support him to live his best life (and you to keep your sanity)
