Appealing higher rate mobility decision advice

Hi,

I asked the DWP to look again at my son's DLA award. He was awarded HR Care at 2 years old and LR Mobility at 5.

He is 12 now and we desperately need HR mobility. We applied in March, got turned down and appealed in August.

Waiting to hear back by mid Sept.

They are keen on extra info (despite having an EP report confirming his severe mental impairment) and I wondered if they would accept a short video I filmed this morning?

He is kicking off in the car and physically booting the dashboard. He hit and spat at me today Sad

I am desperate for a seven seater car so ds can sit at the very back and me and his younger brother can avoid getting kicked in the head on the school run.

I had his social worker stress that DS was a danger to me, himself and other road users in a normal car. That he requires a harness at all times and that still did not protect the driver. That he was entitled (and deserved) to have access to the community that could only happen if supported by HRM. But I don’t see why I video wouldn’t help if they would accept it.

Have you looked at Contact’s booklet and the flowchart to make sure you are covering all the points?
