Heya I'm just wondering if u anyone can help me I have a 3 children my 12 year old has adhd and being tested for autism I have a 9 year old who is autistic and a 6 year old daughter who has global development delay my boys are sharing a room with is a struggle my 12 year old is very violent and uses his hands a lot I'm currently trying to get a bigger house with the council so the boys can have there own room am I entitled or do I have a chance all children have ehcp and entitled to go to special schools not that it matters just need some advice of some mums in the same situation

You would need to approach the council. You will need evidence DC can’t share. A 9 year old is normally considered able to share with siblings of either sex, so you will need to either evidence your 9y/o can’t share a bedroom or evidence your 12y/o needs their own bedroom and your 6y/o can’t share a bedroom.

For benefits purposes, in order to receive the 4 bed rate of housing benefit or UC housing element the DC need to be in receipt of DLA at middle or high rate care and you need to show their disability prevents them from sharing.

Yea I have all of information I'm gonna get the kids 1 2 one from there school to do Me a letter c if that helps

It’s unlikely a letter from a 1:1 on its own will be enough to convince the council DC can’t share due to their disabilities.

I know that wont be enough I have letters from the doctors there disabilities letters and there ehcp and a few others I'm just saying when the children return to school I will get there 121 to write me a letter I've spoken to council and explained the current situation she said the evidence I have should ve enough for me to start bidding it's a start
