Afternoon - I'm trying to reach parents who have been / are unhappy with their child's special needs residential placement and are comfortable with talking to a journalist.
As you probably know, the sector is dominated by very large VCs and private equity companies - and given their focus on keeping their investors happy, the care, safe guarding and welfare standards they employ are often poor. As the parents of a severely autistic, non-verbal teenager we've experienced this first hand when OFSTED summarily shut down our son's residential placement in Bristol in 2019.
We have a couple of journalists (BBC & the Sunday Times) interested in the story but they need / want to speak to other parents about their experiences.
