Help - ASD picking at skin and getting infected

My 4yo ASD son bit his own toenail off. It grew back and I thought it was ok but it got infected and to cut a long story short we ended up in A&E.

Finished the antibiotics and looked all healed but now it’s looking red, swollen and sore again and now he’s picked at it to make it bleed.

Other than keeping his shoes on 24 hours a day has anyone any suggestion.

Shall I buy shares in Savlon?

Has DS had an OT assessment? And what are his anxiety levels like?

No OT yet.

anxiety isn’t too bad. He’s mostly quite happy but in a world of his own.

Maybe he needs a longer course of AB or defo Ab cream from the dr …..

id put sudo on, a plaster with a sock until the dr sees it
