Hi
my renewal forms have come through for my sons DLA. He has autism, learning delays, anxiety and extremely challenging behaviours usually resulting from his heightened anxiety. Reading through, he definitely qualifies for the HRM - he currently receives HRC and LRM, but his anxieties and behaviours are so much worse and he now meets the criteria.
Has anyone been successful in claiming HRM for their child with autism etc? Are there specific words or phrases that the decision makers look for?
I took him to school just this morning (transport have refused to take him for the rest of term due to his behaviours). Because the busses and cars were in the “wrong” order it took 3 members of staff to remove him from my car …. This just breaks my heart and is just one example of how difficult things are. I don’t always have 3 members of school staff when I go out with him which is hardly ever now.
I will be attaching his EHCP, Educational Psychology Report, Paediatrician Report, CAMHS information and plan plus information from his current SEN school.
Thank you.
Sharon
