Looking for advice. My ds is 10 months old and at his 8 month check with the health visitor she referred him to a paediatrician and physio because she suspected low muscle tone and he’s not hitting his milestones. I still haven’t heard from any other professionals and I’ve been looking online and a lot of his symptoms point to cerebral palsy which is making me really worried. His symptoms I can see are:

can’t sit unaided yet
throws self back
arches back
crosses legs at ankles when relaxed
no weight bearing on legs
legs go stiff when trying to sit or change him

gagging on lumpy food which he has seen a speech therapist about and she says she can see the low muscle tone affecting his chewing and tongue control.

Not sure what you are asking us, but it is good that all the referrals are in place.
Quite frankly amazing that he is seeing a SaLT already.

Sorry just if anyone else has a child with cp and his symptoms match? I’ve been told it could be months to see physio or paediatrician I just want to be able to help him.

I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion my duaghter has all those symptoms and has a genetic condition (she was lifeless for months at birth so you’d know If it was that). Sounds like you’re doing all you can and amazing you’re being seen by these specialists already. Good luck x

Hi @Badmm, sorry to jump in with no advise. I noticed some of these symptoms in my daughter and whist Googling came across your question. Have you got an update for your son?

Badmm · 29/09/2022 19:12

Hey no update to what’s the cause yet still on the waiting list to see a paediatrician unfortunately. He is now one and still not sitting he sees a physiotherapist weekly now also been referred to occupational therapy. If your concerned I would definitely raise with gp or health visitor so you can get on the waiting lists they are so long atm x

Hi, how is your little one doing? My LO exhibits similar symptoms and is suspected of having CP.

Hello, I see this thread is a little old now but my 10 month old daughter is showing exactly the same symptoms. We don’t live in UK so will see a paediatrician very quickly and see a physio twice a week. I’m just wondering what was anyone’s outcomes. Especially @Badmm now time has passed?
