Assemblies/sports day/ trips-how do you cope?

Just that really. Daughter’s assembly today and she wouldn’t sit still and I just took her out as she was distracting everyone. I know the parents aren’t judging me, staff are brilliant and the children don’t bat an eyelid! But I hate these things. I feel so low right now and the anxiety leading up to it all is unreal.

How do you cope with it?

We've decided with DS's teacher to keep him off on two mornings when these type of event are happening. They'll send us something to do at home and he'll be classed as "educated off site". We had the option of him going in and just been away from the class at that time, but we thought he'd be more aware of been left out, whereas if he's at home he won't give what the class are doing a second thought.
