I have just heard that my DS who is very behind at school about two years , has mixed receptive and expressive language delay possible ASD and traits of ADHD. He has a place at the specialist setting we wanted and he needs. He has been assigned an SEN 1:1 at his school. Why would this be. If it helps my DS to reach his potential and progress then it’s great

Its not normal practice at my DS’s new school to have 1:1s

It will be because of DS’s needs and it will most likely be in the EHCP.

When 1:1 isn’t specified in EHCPs some SS give 1:1 to begin with while DC settle then reassess.
