Beloved TA leaving - how to help DC

Just wondering if anyone has advice. My DS is in primary and is diagnosed with primarily adhd and anxiety, extremely low self confidence. He has had a truly horrendous year this year, with some pretty awful experiences with staff. From Christmas however he has had an amazing TA, who just gets him. He absolutely adores the TA, totally trusts him and it’s honestly transformed DS and his feelings towards school.

DS doesn’t trust many people but when he does he gets very very attached. He also feels things very deeply.

Anyway very sadly the TA has to leave this week. DS is really properly distraught. It’s almost like grief for someone who has died. Just wondering if anyone has been through this and has any advice how to help him? i think having to do three weeks in the same classroom etc just without the TA will make it even harder than if it was start of the new school year.

Just feel so sad for DS - he’s heartbroken. And he’s tried so very hard and kept going even when things were horrible 🙁
