Sons visit to new school

My son is diagnosed autism, he had a visit today in his new school he moves too in September, I’ve been worried about this visit incase children were mean to him as he has a piece of felt with him sometimes that he flaps when he gets a (worry tummy) anxiety.

after his morning visit he has been taking part in all the activities and I have been told buy his 1:1 he has outdone her expectations and I should be extremely proud!

my son told me this morning he only wanted to talk to and play with 1 child as he struggles with speech and social skills but the teacher told me he ran off and played with all the children and only held her hand one time when about 20 children came up to him asking him lots of questions because he was the (new boy) he’s only 6 and I’ve cried all day and now celebrated with a glass of wine!

if my son didn’t have autism he wouldn’t be my son and he amazes me everyday I didn’t think he would talk, read or write and today he’s done all that and more, sometimes I wish I saw the world as he does because he doesn’t care what anyone thinks of him and he doesn’t care about how people look or behave, anybody going through the school process with a SEN child I want you to know it’s terrifying but you do get through it and keeping your foot on the gas will pay off! And we are all so blessed to have these SEN children because I do believe with them we become better people ❤️
