Weighted blanket

Hi

Can anyone recommend a weighted blanket for my child?

He is 8 and 26kg. I know around a 3kg is recommend but I have tried and him with one and I'm not sure it's got enough weight in it.

Is it dangerous to go heavier? I don't mean 5kg. More 3.6kg to 4kg max.

Would it cause any problems? We did try out a 5kg which he absolutely loved but I felt its wasn't easily portable for him and I worried that was too heavy.

Many thanks

It can be very dangerous to use the wrong size.
a weighted blanket should be 10% of the users body weight.

Ideally you’d want to take it off if he was sleeping - although some say they can be slept under, children are more likely to have trouble taking them off once their sleepy and they can cause overheating or suffocation at the worst. Obviously that’s a worse case scenario but there’s always the likely good that children will move about in the night and the weight won’t be distributed evenly or in the correct places causing issues.
