I just wanted to know if anyone else has any information or experience that can relate to me.
My son was born IUGR 36 weeks at 3lbs. He is 14 months and has a bit of developmental delay. He suffered from febrile convulsions and since suffered more seizures when he has infections. If it happens again he will need to be put on anti seizure medicine even though its when he is unwell.
He is considered to have microcephaly as he was born on the 0.01% however his weight and height have increased and his head is still following that same centile. He had a brain mri which has shown his brain is small and does not fill his head which is already small. Has anyone experienced this and has any information on what that means and how it can affect him?
We are going to start looking into genetics but there is not much else that is wrong with him. His appearance is fine and he is doing a lot of things just a bit delayed in some areas.
Will the brain grow to fit the skull or could it stop growing? I don't know what it means exactly
