Hi has anyone applied to family fund recently and if so do you mind me asking what for and if you were successful? I've recently applied for a trampoline or garden toys I had a call today from a lovely lady who said funding is limited at the moment and I will probably only get one or the other which is fine I didn't realise I applied for both 🤦🏽‍♀️ but just wanted to ask if you were awarded how much did you get? Was it your first time? How long did it take for a reply?

We have had the family fund twice now - they are amazing!

The first time we got 150ish for clothing and 150ish towards trips
The second time we got a laptop that was around 300ish I think but we added some money to it to get the one we wanted.

I think there are a number of factors that they consider - things like holiday parks and laptops I think they might access cheaper anyway.

We applied a few months ago and got £250 for day trips, which we've spent on annual passes for a few local attractions.

Awesome news I made an application this month but they said its taking 10wks for claims to be processed I'm really hoping that they will be able to help me get the trampoline. I didn't even think about day trips and annual passes that would have been great maybe next time

Hi all, what is the process for family fund? My 9 and 2 year old are autistic with additional needs. No diagnosis (on waiting list) school and nursery have things in place anyway. Both have additional needs. Awaiting response from dla, does any one know if we would be eligible?

They don't base it on diagnosis, to qualify they have to need additional support in at least 3 of these areas: personal care, social activities, education, supervision, communication, medical treatments & physical adaptations

You can use the send suport plans from school/nursery and any reports from the referral for assessment as evidence, and put the details of 1a teacher or similar that they can contact.

The areas they look at are similar to the care needs you'll have described on your DLA form, so you can probably reuse a lot of the descriptions from there if you kept a copy. The forms not nearly as bad as that though.
