Seizures - MRI - EEG and micro array

Hi everyone. I have never posted before. I am a new Mum. My daughter had a vacant seizure last week. She is 10 weeks old. We were in hospital and they ruled out infection. They did an MRI and found a very faint shadow in one part of her brain. The EEG also showed abnormal brain activity around the same area. We were discharged after 6 days and told to come back in two months to find out the results of the CGH micro array. I am absolutely terrified. I can’t sleep. I can’t enjoy my daughter. I just cry all the time. I am so so scared for her and what the future holds. Googling just brings up complicated medical research articles. I am desperate for hope, and anyone who has been though something like this. I don’t know where to turn, really.

My Dd had a eeg many years ago, as school were concerned. Eeg was OK, well except it was the worse test ever or someone with auditory problems.
She also had micro array test which showed a small deletion, which was classed as benign.
The only thing you can do it just take it one day at a time and cherish your daughter and try not to worry. Which is easier said than done.
Googling isn't your best friend at the moment, been there years ago.
Take all the family support you can get, if the micro array tests shows up something there are groups you can join like unique rare chromosome charity, swan uk .

Yes I have been there. DS was 3 at the time.

Whatever the micro array shows doesn’t change who your dd is. It may well show something, our geneticist told us if we all have a micro array done it would show some quirks so if that happens don’t panic. I remember the dr rang us and said ok it shows this and that but if that was my son I would not be concerned. If it showed nothing I would be concerned there was an error with the test.

DS was diagnosed with epilepsy and given meds but has been seizure free for 3 years. This is common too.

I know you will worry but try not to .

@carriebradshawwithlessshoes thank you for replying. I am really comforted by what you say about the micro array. I will worry less now if something comes up on it. I am also really comforted by what you say about your DS epilepsy. I am really grateful for your response. Thank you
