Please help, I'm really at breaking point now. My 7 yo ds ate/drank half a bottle of hand soap (currently sitting in a&e) so he doesn't need to go to school. I hate this phrase but he is high functioning and in a mainstream school. He's never done anything like this before, he does put up a little fight about going to school but is good when he's there and mostly comes out happy at the end of the day. But this is a whole new ball game, his behaviour has been spiralling over the past few weeks, lots of meltdowns and he's very emotional. I'm really struggling and want to be able to help him.

Ask for more assistance from CAHMS. Seek private support and therapy if you can afford it. Try to find out from him why he is unhappy at school. Contact his teacher and see if s/he has noticed behavior changes with him. Has anything changed at school?
