I’d like to ask if anyone is aware of/or has any experience of good schools and services in relation to visual impairment support (particularly interested re. cerebral visual impairment) within a maximum commute into London of one hour. We’re currently looking for primary schools but most importantly would be secondary schools for the future. Any help would be much appreciated, many thanks

Hi, Not schools as our son is still at nursery, but in terms of support (outside QTVI) I have found Guide Dogs the best. they seem to have groups for all ages, patents groups and help with technology etc. I hope that is useful!

Hi, we are in the same situation as @MariaP3.

Our 3 years old child is visually impaired and we are interested in moving to a good area within 1 hour commute to Canary Wharf.

We visited several areas so far: Amersham, Chesam, Chorleywood, Richmond, Wimbledon, Twickenham, Orpington, Chislehurst, Beckenham, SevenOaks, Tunbridge Wells.

We don't have a conclusive decision yet. Some areas have outstanding primary schools but their secondary schools are not as good or the opposite.

We really liked Tunbridge Wells as a town, and the schools (primary and secondary) there look outstanding but we are not able so far to know if they have good experience with visual impairment. Wimbledon also is on our favourite list. However, there is just Rutlish as outstanding with good A results.

Any ideas / experience that can help are highly appreciated. @MariaP3 what was your conclusion? Thank you.
