Low self esteem

How do you deal with low self esteem in your sen child. My dd9 thinks she is ugly and hates her face and hair. I tell her she's definitely not but of course this makes no difference whatsoever. Help!!

My son suffers with low self esteem. They do some good activity books you can go through with them. We also send him to relax kids classes which seems to have helped a lot.
I find ignoring the negative and praising the positive works quite well with him.
It’s so hard when they are in that downward spiral.
