Hi, I have recently claimed dla for my dd (5.5yo) who is suspected inattentive adhd. She is already under pediatrics (reffered in nursery) but waiting for a recent face to face appointment. I got the school to fill in the part of the form and filled it out as detailed as possible and sent it off. I am waiting for the report from the school was hoping to send it with the form due to a positive covid case was unable to go to the school the last few days hopefully I can send this in at a later date but what are the chances of getting dla when undiagnosed? Will they just contact the school for the report themselves? Or should I send it in when I get it? I dare say it will be a good few months yet before a response.

DLA isn’t based on a diagnosis, but on needs, so not having a diagnosis doesn’t prevent an award.

DWP don’t always ask for additional evidence so don’t rely on them doing so.

@Namechangeforthisone497 ive been waiting nearly 11 weeks for a decision (and still waiting) but over those 11 weeks I’ve sent in 3 lots of extra info as I received it from school etc. Ring them and let them know you’ll be sending things in and they will make a note of it for you :) good luck!
