What made you decide on residential setting?

Specifically for ASD (Higher Functioning?)

How has it gone and what where you’re children like when they started - anxious? Independent? Verbal?

Dd has started a school which she loves, she loves so much she hates being at home and hates us, her parents. Things have become just awful. I am pleased she likes her new school (not without the odd challenge) and the young staff, but things outside of school have become just unbearable all around. It’s never been easy, but we all get through. Now it’s just terrible and miserable. So stressful. Dd is hormonal and on anxiety meds (slowly increasing dosage as she’s only on 10mg fluoxetine)

I don’t know what to do really. We love DD so much but she’s just so angry, aggressive and hateful constantly. She hates the weekends and school holidays.

Previously, at her old school she struggled to attend - and preferred been away from school, although easily bored.

Now the opposite is the case! The school used to have residential setting but no longer has the facility. I just can’t imagine her being away from home but I don’t know how we can continue the way we are.

I don’t think it’s something respite can help.
