Can you get priority points or rehomed for having a severe autistic child and current home isn't safe ? Has anyone had a successful new home ?

A disability in and of itself doesn't influence housing matters. It is needs that do. If your home isn't suitable for DC's needs then it can. Have you had an OT assessment?

Have you checked if you are eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant?

OT wrote a letter and Islington council didn't give me any medical Points whatsoever. I have 2 children , my son is severely autistic and my daughter has sensory PD we are in a 2 bed flat (1 being a box room) , located on the 1st floor.

The windows are not stern and safe. Outside my front door we have a balcony which is scary when my son is walking the pathway. I always hold him tightly incase he climbs over- he doesn't have awareness of danger.

The ot wrote we also need a garden for own use so my son plays.

Also the hallways are narrow and my son spins constantly for his sensory needs and accidentally hits his head to the wall.

I desperately need a lower ground property and with e bed .

How can I challenge their decision and get our right.

Was the OT from the council's housing adaptations team or another department? It would normally involve a home visit. The applications are then assessed by the housing medical officer. Ask the council how to complain and appeal the decision.

A 3 bed is unlikely as even if you get it accepted DS and DD can't share many boroughs count the living room as a bedroom.
