Dear All
I am reaching out to any other mummy's who's child has been diagnosed with global development delay or microcephaly.
My DD is 12 months and delayed in all areas of development. She now has good head control and can sit supported (as long as someone to sitting behind her). She hasn't mastered sitting up, she can not crawl, and only rolls to one side.
What worries be the most is DD has no interest in anything at the moment. She enjoys sitting and looking round but that's as far as it goes.
She does not acknowledge hands, so when you place toys for her to grip she will just drop them.
She does not give contact even to us, her parents (which is extremely hard). She rarely smiles, she does not acknowledge different experiences like being in the bath, she will just look round the room.
Her only true interest at the moment seems to be looking at the bars to her cot, blinds, door frames, curtains, patio doors etc. When she sees these things she gives them the biggest smile and coos.
Is very hard to work out what this means, she is under a lot of intervention teams but no one can seem to tell us anything from experience?!
Genetics tests have come back clear so far, and we're awaiting results from brain MRI.
Would really like to hear from anyone who has gone through anything similar. I'm guessing I'm looking for hope they things will come (just seems to have been this way for months).
Any feedback would be appreciated : )
