Hi,

My son (3.5 years) recently diagnosed with ASD.
We have noticed change in his behaviour since January this year and thought it was because of lock down etc as he was completely fine until lockdown last year March. Started noticing more and more things since then. Iam still trying to come into terms with this.

We have a NHS salt for his communication issues. Only reviews every 3 months.

His speech is at very basic level. I also feel it is very unclear. I think he also has delayed echololia as he says random things that he heard or said himself.( eg : uncles jacket, you alright etc)

No social interaction. He still does not play with other children or his own twin sister.

Paediatrician told me that he is very rigid and has repetitive play so it is going to cause issues for him.

We tried private speech therapy for him as well, but I can’t find a significant improvement in him. There is a tiny bit of progress though.

He always seems lethargic. Not interested is many things that we show. When he stands he generally lean on us.

I Know what his issues are, but struggling to know where to start . Does any other therapy help with lack of interests? I am worried as he going to start school next year September and he is significantly behind his peers.

Now that he is diagnosed what will be the next step? I was told about EHCP, but it can take 5 months according to Senco. In the meantime I wanted to help him as much as possible.
