Anybody else dreading back to school

My ds behaviour is so much better in the holidays without the stress of school. We also went on a holiday to a cottage and he was so calm, like a different child. Which is strange considering he liked routine.
Now school is imminent and I’m dreading the stress and daily meltdowns.

Me too, hence being awake at this silly time. We’ve had such a nice summer because demands have been low and he hasn’t had the stress of the constant social rules to deal with. I have a knot in my stomach thinking about how my smiley, loving boy will be turning back in to a frustrated ball of anger in about two days time.

Yes totally! Feeling very very worried.... the countdown is on 😬😬😬😬😬😬
Not sure whether he will agree to go - I’m at the point now he’s too heavy to lift!
I know he’s super anxious too .. soooo sad.

It’s so sad isn’t it. I’m lucky mine is actually looking forward to going back. It’s quite strange as he finds it all so difficult, but still thinks he likes school. I don’t think he recognises how difficult it is for him and how it effects him. He’s quite sociable so just likes seeing his friends.

I’m dreading seeing the change in his personality and it breaks my heart to think how stressed and anxious he must be all day for it to effect
Him like that.

But, we have a diagnosis now and are on our way to getting an ehcp so hopefully things will get better.

Yes I'm dreading it, my dd9 doesn't have any friends and really struggles. I'm dreading getting her up and dressed for school knowing that she hates going.

That must be so tough. That’s the one thing that does actually keep me going, is knowing he does have friends. I think about it often, how different it would be if he didn’t. It may happen in the future as with age he is beginning to find the social aspect more difficult.
Hope it goes ok for you all.

Same, I’ve enjoyed summer so much and feel like ds has come on leaps and bounds but back to school this morning. He looked like a wide eyed trapped animal when I carried him into school begging me not to leave him. So hard isn’t it.
