Unable to work child with Autism

Hi I just need some advice and support.
My dad is 5 years old and has Autism. I currently work and my husband and in laws look after him before and after school and in school holidays. However we are at a point now where this can no longer continue due to it all being to much for my in laws to deal with because of ds behaviour. I love my job so much and gives me the break I need each week but it seems I am going to have to quit.
My biggest worry is money and now wondering what benefits we could claim to help support us financially. I have read that carers allowance can be paid via universal credit or as separate payment, but if paid separately it will have an affect on universal credit money as its seen as income.
Does anyone have any advice on this please?

You will receive your carers allowance (providing ds is in receipt of middle or high rate DLA?) then it will be deducted from your universal credit award £ for £ but you qualify for a carers element on UC too. Then you get elements for ds disability, again depending on the rate of DLA. So I get UC monthly but then weekly get my carers.

It all depends on your Dh wage too. If you can pm me I can let you know what my Dh earns, what we get in UC etc or you can do it the opposite way tell me what your partner earns and whether you rent or mortgage and how much your rent is if you do rent and i will calculate entitlement for you.

Also if you do want me to work it out, what rate DLA your ds is on too.

You can also use online calculators but I didn’t find them accurate, so I found the exact formula UC use and every single month it’s spot on.

Hi We currently get middle rate dla. Because of how ds is childminders etc would not be suitable.
