Are there any other parents with children who have a verbal dyspraxia diagnosis?

You're bloody lucky to GET the diagnosis! Round here they fob you the fuck off that only the Nuffield can diagnose it (which is utter bullshit).

DD2 has motor dyspraxia and clearly as fuck has verbal dyspraxia too but we've never had a formal diagnostic label given to it (I'm a student SALT and it's like a textbook list of features that she has - and the verbal issues were what put us onto the motor planning issues).

Our son has it - diagnosed by independent SALT, - NHS SALT has always been reluctant to talk about it (our guess is because it requires so much direct therapy which they don't have the capacity to provide) but they do now acknowledge the independent SLT diagnosis in NHS reports. He's 9 and has made lots of progress with twice weekly independent SALT (not cheap but worth it). Still unclear on quite a few speech sounds and multi-syllabic words so unfamiliar people don't always understand him but he's getting there .

Yes, mine was diagnosed by school SALT aged 6 after she had worked with him for 1.5 years. What would you like to talk about?
