A level tutoring

Hello

My son is studying A level Physics and we'd like a tutor to help him with catching up and with answering exam questions.

He is autistic and this affects how he interprets questions and how he processes information.

He would like to improve his grades so that he can apply for uni etc.

Do you have any recommendations for online tutors? I've had a look and it's a bit overwhelming.

We'll look at local tutors too but I don't want to say where we are.

He's a clever guy but something isn't clicking at the moment.

Thanks in advance - I do post on MN under another name but I'm not on everyday so apologies if I don't get back to you straight away.

Definitely ask for a (paid for) trial lesson as how the tutor works with him will be really important. I tutor A level maths but not Physics, sadly, and have some Autistic students. Works well online for them.

Thank you, you're right I think a paid for trial would be the best way!

His physics teacher just doesn't get him so we will need to find a good fit.

Do you know of any reputable agencies online? It seems a bit like the wild west when I do a search. Thank you!

I have one I can recommend who has taught a few Autistic students online. I checked and she is available. You can contact me via
southcoasttutors.co.uk

Otherwise, with most agencies, it is really pot luck. I am registered with First Tutors and Tutor Hunt but they'll take anyone and you have to sift through the information each tutor provides. Also they take a large cut from every online lesson so contacting tutors directly or via a company such as mine. Then all/most of the money goes to the tutor themselves.

I rather outed myself there - time for another name change!!!
