Book recommendations

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can recommend any books to help. I have been trying to find Hanen, More than Words. It is super expensive! My child is starting SLT in a couple of weeks and I wanted to see if I can help by reading books like this. Has anyone any recommendations of other books for a toddler 18 months+ or where I can get the Hanen book a little less??
Many thanks

Have you tried your local library? If they don't currently own the book they will often buy the book for the library if you ask.

For book recommendations, what are you trying to tackle? Is it a communication issue?

I rang my local library this morning, they don’t have it and no suggestion of getting it unfortunately. I am not quite sure what I’m even looking for! My 18 month old has been referred for autism assessment, she has an appointment with SLT next week so I suppose I’m just looking for some knowledge and help with communication development as she has none. Thank you 😊

It’s about £65 on Amazon which is less than the price of one private SALT appointment. It’s a big manual and worth the money IMO if you can afford it. Alternatively you might find the SLT has a library that they can lend you some books from so you should ask them.

I don't have more than words but I do have a copy of Hanen 'it takes two to talk' if you want it? PM me and I can stick it in the post for you.

It's a bit cheaper here: www.winslowresources.com/more-than-words-from-hanen-book.html

That is so kind @livpottee. I have managed to get my daycare manager to organise someone lending me ‘it takes two..’, but thank you so much 💗 Thanks skkyelark xx
