Advance apologies - this has doubtless has been done to death...
Can anyone suggest a private assessment provider in the Midlands, Oxford or South-West? I'm keen to find someone specialist in diagnosing girls, but can't schlep as far as Lorna Wing Centre, unfortunately.

Your GP should be able to tell you who on his list also takes private patients and specialises in diagnosing girls.

If not, the NAS have a directory, but none of the people listed in it are "approved" in any way by them, so do thoroughly check them out before booking.

skcpsychology.com/specialist-assessments/
This psychologist is great, she did my daughter's assessment (after we were told NHS list was 2 years plus) and managed to keep her engaged throughout!

(Also has experience with ASD girls and was able to put in assessment that dd's high level of verbal skills were actually consistent with bright ASD girls as this was something we'd been told was inconsistent before)

I highly recommend Axia ASD based in Chester but doing appointments online if you can’t go in person

Thanks so much, everyone! Hugely appreciate you taking the time to help. It's a bit daunting...

My 9yr old daughter has recently been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. We went with Harley psychiatrists. It's all currently done via Skype but the experience was very positive. The school and GP have both accepted the private diagnosis
