Hi

New here and hoping someone can advise...I had parents evening and they have said my son who is on a learning plan has been placed on stage K which they say is Special Educational Needs. He is 7 and really has no interest in school is very distracted constantly and essentially lives in his own little world most of the time.

They have said it doesnt mean anything is wrong but any progress he makes is extremely slow of any. Does anyone know what will happen if he keeps making little to no progress, I am worried.

Thanks

They may suggest referrals to Speech and language therapy to assess his levels of understanding and his social communication difficulties.

They may suggest a referral to the paediatrician for a full developmental assessment.

They may suggest a referral to the educational psychologist to assess his learning, behavioural and social needs.

They may just continue to monitor him, whilst putting in strategies at school.

Can you say a bit more about him being in his own world? Is this just in relation to school work, or with friendships too?

Where do the school see his difficulties? Do you see the same at home?
