After waiting over 11 months we have just had an occupational therapist from ss come and assess dd who has cp. She is getting us a seating system for the bath, handrails for the toilet, steps for both the toilet and bath, secure fencing around our flat so dd can play outside without the fear of being run over, and 2 very dangerous old concrete sheds knocked down outside.
May take a while to come through with it being so close to christmas but at least we're getting something done!!
All her physio did for her was give her an inflatable cusion to sit on in the bath which was crap because she can't sit unaided and the bloody thing floats so made it 10 times worse. Will be celebrating tonight with a large glass of wine!!
Now just need to wait for a date for her botox operation.

Excelelnt news.

DS3 has his first OT assessment soon, focussing on toiletting I think. Will be interesting to see if they can offer any input.

A friend of ours is getting a complete garden modification because it is lethal and she has a son with ASD- it really is dangerous, extremely steep hill with a concrete path with no handles that drops down- they're bringing it all up to the house level at a cost of several hundred! (actually I think its a bit of a cheat as she lets him play on the street alone as he's 12 but anyway, it shows they do offer it)
