Struggling with ASD dd

Another night of walking on eggshells, shouting, slamming doors from my 9 year old dd. Find it so so hard. I know there's nothing I can do but I wish with all my heart she didn't have ASD.

I hear you. I’ve come to this board looking for some support tonight after yet another meltdown from dd, who is 10. It went on for over an hour, before she started to calm down, but refuse to go to bed. We’ve compromised and she is in bed with me and Dh is on the sofa. Far from ideal, but hadn’t got the energy for her to keep arguing in to the night. She is threatening no school tomorrow, I’ll have to cross that bridge in the morning. The meltdowns are coming more regularly here, not quite as bad as at the peak this time last year, but I think we are getting close to that. Prior to that, this time of year had always been quite calm with her, so don’t know what’s changed. She’s only been diagnosed for a few months, so we are still learning a lot (having previously thought we were just shockingly bad parents to her).
