Send child private paediatrician?

This is my first time starting a thread i usually read and respond to others but never share my own worries. My little boy will be 3 the end of July. He is currently non verbal and on the waiting list for speech and language therapy. He is also on the waiting list to see a paediatrician for a developmental assessment due to social and communication difficulties after being referred by his pre school.

I am convinced my boy has autism and want to get answers for him so I can help him the best i can in all areas of his social and communication needs. I want to help and support him.
There is up to a years wait for the paediatrician appointment I wanted to ask does anyone have any experience with seeing a private paediatrician for their child? Is there anyone from the Cheshire Area who know of someone they can recommend?

Is anyone else going through the same thing with their little one? Would love to chat with others who are in the same boat as me. My boy gets so frustrated with communication it breaks my heart that he cannot get the words out and I worry so much about him Xx

Hi there, I can't help with recommendations, but I am in a similar limbo to you in that I'm waiting for a developmental review with the paediatrician. We have been waiting for a review since January, and have been told it'll be another few months before we are seen. The waiting is awful, knowing that there are resources that can help your child but you can't reach them. I've researched private clinicians in my area, but unfortunately the cost is just too prohibitive at the moment. I hope you get the answers you need soon. Thanks so much for your reply i know the waiting game is so hard! Yes I think my boy was referred in January also. I know you just want the answers don't you so you can understand and support them. Thanks again so much for your message hopefully we will have our appointments soon x
