Just received the report from the SALT assessment for my 8 year old dd and it makes for awful reading basically she doesn't speak in class or to her classmates and all doesn't show empathy etc the end of the letter read 'good luck for the future' I feel so depressed and sad. Has anyone has the same where do we go for help if there is any or do we just get left to get on with it and have a child who just doesn't speak ??!

Does your DD have an EHCP? .... was the SALT assessment part of the EHCP? What was the SLT's recommendations? Is your daughter receiving any SLT support at school. In other words, your DD will not receive the support unless you push for it.
It's hard to advise you further as you will need to answer the above points I raised. In the meaning, get private SLT for your DD, also private SLT social skills groups would be good for her too.
