Hi there, looking for other parents with understanding and experience of PDA. Specifically school reccomendations in east Surrey/Kent borders. Thanks

Hi!!

Our Daughter is Autistic with certain PDA traits/profile. She is almost 10 but like a teen - tall and going through puberty, very hormonal! Confused.

We aren’t based in Surrey/Kent though, unfortunately

Aw thanks for reply. Thought we must be the only ones as have not heard back from anyone! Not easy is it 😩

Not easy at all!!

Our Daughter has had great support at school but they can now no longer support her needs. She can’t cope and will try and go but then no-one can get her into school any longer, once we arrive! We are trying for Specialist School placement on her EHCP, obviously for secondary but ideally before.

It’s draining isn’t it! Taking pressure off seems to help but it’s hard. There are some good PDA Groups on Facebook, if you’re on there.

Thank u. I will have a look on fb. My son is currently at a special school but there are a wide range of different special needs so he struggles with his peer group. X
