3 year old son non-verbal

I want to hear from mums with non-verbal autistic children. Has anyone experienced their child speaking later in life? My son will be 3 in April. We think he’s autistic (every hallmark early sign since he was about 10 months old). I’ve heard of children not talking until 7 or 8 years old. Has anyone experienced this?

my 3yo is mostly non speaking (does echo a bit / recite nursery rhymes / numbers, not with clear meaning though). She used to have more words before regression around 18m-2yo

we are trying our best with non verbal communication (pictos, makaton) but that isn’t really getting anywhere yet

just had a terrible (although not unusual) night of her being up since 2am and just the hugest most hysterical meltdowns for hours. I feel if she could just communicate a bit this would be so much easier
