With so many children needing help why is it so hard?

With so many children needing help why is it so hard? My son can’t cope with mainstream, he’s at a small independent school on W.London but has been rejected by a specialist school. All his tests are the low end of average or below, no behaviour problems. EHCP pending but our state school is huge and would in no way work. Why does it have to be so hard to get a decent education for children who don’t fit the norm? There are so many of us struggling to get a decent education for our children it just makes me crazy, exclusions, stress, spending money to get help. When will the education section realise they’re missing out on a huge section of society by dismissing our amazing children??

Sadly it is about money.

Why have the SS rejected him? Unless the school is wholly independent LAs can only refuse to name your choice if admitting DS is incompatible with the efficient education of others or efficient use of resources or the school is unsuitable for DS' age, ability, aptitude or SEN. And, LAs can name to school even if the school object.

It is possible to name a MS independent too.
