Ds1 is 13 and has ADHD and ODD. He started medication in July, it took a little while to get the correct meds/dose but it seemed to be working. He's always been high energy, difficult and sensitive. But recently he's just absolutely horrendous. Incredibly rude and disrespectful. Deliberately annoying his siblings, scaring them and hurting them if they take matters into their own hands and try and get him out of their rooms or something. He's become violent with dh, not so much me but has tried to push me around. Laughs when he's told off. Goes absolutely crazy when he's given a consequence despite warnings. Just leaves the house if he's grounded. Literally couldn't care less about any rules. We've drawn up a behaviour contract which he said was stupid. A teacher at school is going to do anger management with him. We are trying to improve his emotional literacy. Dh and I are on the brink of divorce and this is pushing us over the edge. Ds1 screams that we are abusing him when we give consequences. It has been mentioned that he may have ASD. PDA sounds like a possibility. I feel like an absolutely shit parent and can't figure out where I've gone wrong. Is this hormones? Medication? Parenting? Extreme end of normal teens?
