Autism diagnosis

Hi,
My nearly 5 year old son is waiting on his diagnosis and I had someone call me up from the pathway team wanting more information they said this is the process for the diagnosis but does anyone know how long this roughly takes? I'm hoping it's soon as I need to find a suitable school for him as no asd base is able to accept him without it. Thanks if anyone is able to help xx

Only people who live / work in your area can tell you that It will be different in different areas of the Country I'm afraid. We all live in individual Health Authorities.
The 'commonality' is "too long" but what might be only a year in some areas might be 2 or more in other areas.
Some areas will prioritise those who need a diagnosis for a place in specialist provision, so it is worth asking the question.
