Private adhd assesment?

Just wondering if anyone went private for a ADHD assesment?

My son is 10 and always had difficulties with behaviour and impulstiveness. He currently attends a SEMH special school and is transitioning to a SEMH high school next year. He is on a waiting list for CYPS but (understandably) the waiting list is very long and his behaviour is becoming a huge problem at home as he becomes very aggressive and he's quite a large boy (towers me at 5ft2).

My only worry is that the GP and professionals may not accept the diagnosis and may not prescribe any medication that could be needed. I couldn't afford a private prescription long term and I feel as though id have spent the money for the diagnosis to be rejected anyway.

Also not sure if i do go ahead what type of package to go for - assesment and diagnosis only or all inclusive with check ups and titration If needed?

Any advice would be great!

I don't have advice on going private. However I do know of a person who did, but wasn't able to access nhs services due to this and had to have them reassessed by the nhs. I'm not sure if that is the protocol everywhere, but I'd speak to your gp about it if you are hoping to receive nhs help after diagnoses.
