DD is 6 in year 1.
Has a full EHCP with 32.5 hours 1-1.
Is on a reduced timetable 11-3. She isn't really coping with that. She had two days off school this week and 12 hours in school. During those 12 hours in school she achieved 20 minutes (in 2 x 10 minute blocks) learning activities. The other 11 hours 40 minutes were either lunch time or attempting to regulate her.
One of the issues we are finding with specialist provision is she is too academically capable as she doesn't have a learning difficulty. She's 2 + years behind in reading & writing. 1-2 years behind in maths.
She hasn't had a cognitive assessment yet. I'm not entirely convinced she doesn't have a learning difficulty and if it's confirmed it may help with choosing suitable schools. Any ideas on the best way to proceed or if I'm clutching at straws?
