Nappy help for 3.5 yr old ASD DS

Hello! I’m hoping someone could point me in the right direction please Smile
My 3.5 year old DS has ASD and is still in nappies, we’re starting to introduce steps to begin potty training but I feel like it will be a looooong journey and he’ll be in nappies for a while yet. He’s starting to grow out of the biggest size I can buy in my local town supermarkets (6+), I can find sizes 7 and 8 pampers online with Tesco but the reviews are really bad. Can anyone recommend a good brand of size 7 and upwards nappies and where I can buy them please...?
Thank you in advance! Smile xx

Try contacting your health visitor and see whether there is a continence service in your local authority that can help. In mine they will take referrals for over 3s, where there are SN (don’t need to have a diagnosis but defo developmental problems rather than just late potty training, iyswim). At that age my DS had an ASD diagnosis so we were eligible. Through that service we got some free nappies at size 7 which were bigger than the pampers ones, and he was okay in them till age 5+ (as a fairly average sized child). I think they allowed for 3 nappies per day, delivered in 2- month supplies at a time. It wasn’t quite enough, but it did really help. For the rest we used pull-ups for older children.

The brand they provided was called Libero Comfort. You can get them on Amazon (possibly elsewhere too) and they do bigger ones but they’re not cheap. They were decent quality though. But defo see whether you are eligible for any help.

Good luck!

My DS is 4.5 and still is in nappies at night, he also has Sen but toilet trained. We have no problems with the pampers baby dry size 7s. Pull ups might have more room, as they're stretchy.

Thank you @MerlotChiantiMontepulicano, I’ll give them a go and see how we get on then Smile

We used the Libero range from Tena Direct. They were expensive though. If you contact them they should send you out some samples so that you can get the correct size. Our local continence service wouldn’t help until a child was around 8 I think but worth giving yours a call first.

In my town you get nappy nappies from age 4 but they only provide you with 4 a day which is obviously not enough. My 5 year old gets the libero size 7 from the continence team and we use the Asda little angels size 6 the rest of the time. I found them bigger then pampers size 8 strangely enough.
