Income Levels and Benefits

My SEN brother receives only benefits, he has a hobby which he has to get a cab to, a return journey is £25. My sister and I have spoken about topping up his income weekly to cover this (it's about a quarter of his disposable income). My sister keeps putting obstacles in the way, she assures me she doesn't have a problem in principle. The latest question is whether it will affect his benefits, I have said that I am sure something like £1,200 per annum won't have an impact, as there are people on benefits who will earn more than that in a job.

Is anyone able to advise whether this would be a problem?

I am not a welfare advisor, but DLA/PIP are not means tested, so they wouldn’t be affected.

People cannot claim ESA if they have more than £6,000 in savings. He won’t have £6,000 in savings, if you pay for a taxi, so I can’t see that being affected either.

I don’t know anything about other benefits.
