Sorry its a long post and if it's not the wrong group but I've just been watching a panorama programme about special needs in lockdown and how the system is very hard it's got me thinking about it.

So my son is 4 and since the age of 1 I've had concerns about whether he has signs of autism, currently it's mainly the speech social and communication but there is other issues also sensory issues with noises. Eating. Meltdowns and vacant episodes

I'll try and do in this an age order

•Age 1.5 went to GP and discussed with them who referred to peadiatricain

•Age 2 peadiatricain didn't think there was any autistic signs and said we need to watch and wait

•Age 2.5 she left and we got given a new peadiatricain who said we need to watch wait still but do other tests in the mean time hearing EEGS ECGSs SPEECH therapy in place. But he would prefer us to see a community paediatrician as apparently it's more their area also got given a GARS test to give to nursery

•Age 3.5 community paediatrician said as the nursery havnt recorded anything on the GARS which i didnt agree with as he had only been there 3 months on and off. So she didn't think he had it either but she told us he has signs of global developmental delay and sensory issues but now she DENIES she ever said that and REFUSES to accept she's wrong
but she will send another GARSBand wants a social and communication report aswell as ADOS testing(WHICH in all honesty ibe no idea what that is) she also did bloods and I think there was genetic testing but all of them came back normal apart from his iron levels

So now his 4 his finished nursery who finally did admit they have/had noticed lots of behaviour more recently with him and sensory issues to noises eating ect. His just started school and I've no diagnoses for him however i have arranged some stuff for him. So his now got an ESCO referal. The working together teams which is a county thing we have. SENCO teacher informed who we reckon will get an ehcp for him. And also his speech therapy which is still on going

I just feel I'm missing something I don't feel ive got very far at all in 3 years and the panorama programme has got me thinking am i even going down the correct route.
