Just that really. I just want go to sleep at a reasonable hour. Once. And I don't want to twist in real life. It's not her fault I know, she's not naughty, shes anxious. But it's still exhausting for us all.

Flowers it's just miserable at times isn't it.
I have an 11yr old who doesn't settle until well past 11pm. Often with a meltdown.
I'm hoping secondary school will tire her out. In the same way I hoped nursery and primary school would Hmm.

This sounds just like my dd. She’s going to be 11 soon and never goes to bed at a reasonable time. We leave her in her room to read. She comes down regularly—to annoy us— to delay bedtime, ‘ I need water’, ‘when’s grandma going home?’, can I watch the news?’ And on it goes...

It is. We have a lot of anxiety around secondary school here. I'm hoping once all settled in things improve. They have to one day, surely? 😪

It's exhausting isn't it? DS1 is nearly 11 and is awful at nighttime because of his anxiety despite melatonin and another medication that makes him sleepy.

You are not alone. I am afraid that I do not have any answers though.

My 11 year old has never slept much, even as a very young baby. He gets incredibly anxious and just cries when he has to go to bed. Things are better now than they used to be. For several years he would not sleep at all unless I was next to him.
