Awful first day back at school

Feeling awful today my DD 8 with suspected ASD really struggled going into school today, seems she was the only one as all the other children happily skipped in all excited !! So unhappy right now I sat and cried in the car, I just want her to be happy

I’m sorry this morning was difficult. Do you know why she struggled? Does she usually not like school or just anxious after all the time off?

I am sure she will not be the only one. Schools will be doing a lot of PHSE work to help the children settle back in. Hopefully she will have a nice day once she reacquaints herself with everything
